Magic Johnson eulogizing former NBA commissioner David Stern ("I'm gonna miss my angel") in New York Tuesday? Sadly ironic, considering how long we feared it might be the other way around. Special remembrances all around at Radio City Music Hall.

.@nicolas88batum's 1st memory -- his worst memory -- was his father dying on a basketball court in France. The aftermath threatened Batum's NBA career. As @hornets fly to play in Paris, how Batum faced his fear of dying young: @FRABasketball @Boundiaye https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/charlotte-hornets/article239440933.html …

First came the fear of suffering a fate similar to his father. Then came the threat of being denied even the chance. Read this.

The biggest issue in Houston is lack of accountability. There's no one to tell James Harden to try something else when something isn't working. Chris Paul tried, and he was traded. Kevin McHale tried, and he was fired.

The Bulls are now 1-18 against teams with winning records and 2-14 following wins this season. Nine of those 14 losses have been by double digits.

Won’t have to face many plus-.500 teams in draft lottery.

Giannis Antetokounmpo falls as hard as he plays many nights. After hitting the floor 10 times vs. Boston Thursday, he and other Bucks talked about the reigning MVP’s aggressive style – and the risks it brings for him and his team's Finals ambitions.

Interesting stuff from ⁦@AschNBA⁩ on how Giannis’ style invites so many tumbles. Come for the numbers, stay for the use of “scoundrel.”

Halftime in Milwaukee is the “Chin Balancer.” He just balanced a wheelbarrow and a grill. Don’t get too close @tvabby

Also a stepladder and a grocery shopping cart. "Chin" could really have shown me something, though, by balancing our daughter's checkbook.

Bucks 76, Celtics 58. That first-half total is Milwaukee's best (prev.: 72 vs. Portland in Nov.) of the season, and the most allowed in 2019-20 in a first half by Boston (prev.: 66 vs. Washington in Nov.).

DiVincenzo from the right wing gives the Bucks 11 3FGs in 12 attempts (91.7%).

Detroit shot 60 percent against Boston last night and now Milwaukee is piling on at 61.9 pct (13/21) after 1Q. Lead of 36-20 built largely on 15-point edge in 3FG scoring (6/7 vs. 1/9).

Zach LaVine vs. Bradley Beal Wednesday was a showdown of aspiring All-Stars from losing teams. Coaches should look past W-L records when filling out their ballots for East/West reserves.

Yeah, yeah, you play the game to win. Except the All-Star Game, where winning means nothing. It's an individual showcase and it'd be nice if the coaches -- when voting for reserves -- kept that in mind.

Wilt just effortlessly draining hook shots from like 3-pt range is still unbelievable

Oh, to have seen him drain a couple of these in a game as corner threes! #NBATwitter 🤯

Forty years ago tonight, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson battled for the SECOND time as NBA players. This one was in Boston, way closer than the first. Bird was solid (14p/12r) but Magic's numbers were not (1p/2a). What was up with that?
