This is just astonishing, three days before the start of the school year. De Blasio confirming now - says he spoke for hours yesterday with the head of the principals and teachers union who said schools are not ready to reopen. They have been saying this for many weeks.

The federal government began posting nursing home data in June, but it did not require the facilities to report cases or deaths that occurred before May. So, effectively, it missed the worst part of the pandemic for many areas of the country.
