The minute you have an affiliation, you are no longer to be trusted with your opinion. The patron saint of intellectuals Jean-Paul Sartre declined the Nobel Prize in Lit because did not want to be “institutionalised”. His opinions would reflect on the Nobel & vice versa.
As you get richer, you can feel safer, & don't give a f**ck of what people think (if you invest safely). As you get more *prominent*, get an academic or political position or some accolade (Nobel prize), you are much more vulnerable as you have much further to fall.
Reminder: You do not become free by becoming prominent. You will be canceled if you stray from the monoculture. As in Kundera's *Joke*, they will find something you said somewhere that you don't even remember. Your public "apologies" will make you look even more vulnerable. https://t.co/H4yy1eMOvi
I said from day one that the #PPP would be rife with fraud. None of the 600 asset management firms that got "loans" needed the money. They got paid to retain workers they had no intention of firing. I could have taken the free money myself, but didn't want to lie to obtain it.

Have you Pre-Ordered your copy? False Alarm will convince you that everything you think about climate change is wrong -- and points the way toward making the world a vastly better, if slightly warmer, place for us all. Pre-Order: https://t.co/E8O3zcHKEe https://t.co/DNF5ysFqxr
The "if slightly warmer" part gives away that this MUST be rubbish Why? Nonlinearity. You can't just kick up the earth a couple degrees like a thermostat and expect no disruptive cascades https://t.co/cKrRlQz32p
JUST IN: Harvard announces all course instruction will be taught online for the 2020-21 academic year. Undergraduate tuition of $49,653 remains the same.
Evidence that people pay for the Chanel brand to impress their neighbors, not for the underlying quality. It is all about buying certification, not knowledge. https://t.co/5TGq9LRSF3
