Fun Fact

The official Twitter account for Sweden is run by a different citizen every week.

A federal judge struck down Trump rules raising the minimum EB-5 investment to $900K from $500K. Crucially for immigration folks: the judge also didn't buy Sec Mayorkas's attempt to ratify the rule, which she found was improperly issued https://t.co/NOZrelzFpr

Clarification on tonight's meeting of the Steering and Policy Committee. Speaker Pelosi told Members she plans to announce WHETHER she will create a select committee THIS WEEK. Her preference continues to be a bipartisan commission which Senate Republicans are blocking.

Here's the news on the failed FTPA vote, where I tried to cut through the fight-isn't-over happy talk to get to the reality: the only real path to success here for Democrats is an elimination of the filibuster, and it's very hard to see that happening. https://t.co/SwDgRK8RXv

Meanwhile Senate GOP Whip Thune said attempts at compromise with Rs won't go anywhere “I don’t think there’s anything I’ve seen yet that doesn’t fundamentally change the way states conduct elections. It’s sort of a line in the sand for most of our members"

...there's no indication those tweaks would be enough to pass a voting bill. @LeaderMcConnell has been relentlessly effective in keeping his conference united on this issue. And it's hard to see that changing in 6-8 weeks.

Notably, Sinema says she's open to a debate. And if you're reading between the lines here, she leaves room to support reforms aside from changing the 60-vote bar, such as putting the onus on the minority to deliver 41 or making opponents talk it out. BUT...

Sinema on the eve of a big S1 vote: "To those who want to eliminate the legislative filibuster to pass the For the People Act...I would ask: Would it be good for our country if we did, only to see that legislation rescinded...and replaced...over the objections of the minority?" https://t.co/J1lJbqTI0d

Sinema digs in on filibuster ahead of elections/voting rights vote “sometimes, the filibuster, as it’s been used in previous Congresses, is needed to protect against attacks on women’s health, clean air and water, or aid to children and families in need” https://t.co/M2jvJBsLY3

President Obama called Joe Manchin three times in eight years. "In Biden’s first few months, he talked or met with Manchin at least half a dozen times. Biden took to calling him Jo-Jo." Great Manchin profile by @eosnos https://t.co/XXf0MmnIdA

I've been thinking a lot & talking to people about how it could be that Sessions, Rosenstein & Barr could all honestly be asserting no knowledge of the subpoena for Schiff & Swalwell's records. I don't have a definitive answer but here's a theory... https://t.co/RSI0K708Zg

“The reports of the behavior of the attorney general under Donald Trump are appalling,” White House comms director Kate Bedingfield tells @mitchellreports. “He obviously has a very different relationship with his Department of Justice than Trump did his” she says of Biden.
