Trump was not "democratically elected" - he lost by 2.9 million votes. He was "constitutionally elected," by an 18th century constitutional design that includes a ban on foreign bribes to the president and that offers impeachment and removal as a remedy for bribe-seeking https://twitter.com/kausmickey/status/1194362323944632320 …

Take that Americans! Another four years of the worst president ever please!

"This is something unprecedented in American history. We've never had a president give an enormous government contract in effect to himself." –Washington Post's David Fahrenthold on Pres. Trump's decision to hold next G7 summit at Trump National Doral

.@realdonaldtrump gave out 2 sets of numbers for the same buildings in NYC. The #s they gave to lenders made the buildings look better than the #s they gave to NYC for tax purposes. Great digging by @propublica.

It is not news that Barr is scrutinizing the origins of the Russia investigation, it is reasonable to ask relevant governments for assistance, this revelation is categorically different from the Biden/Ukraine/aid issue and conflating the two is a mistake.

If they wanted to understand origins of Trump-Russia, DOJ would review Trump's business records 2006-2016 Instead Wm Barr is pressuring allies to agree that Russia was innocent and Trump was a victim. Barr is not "scrutinizing" anything, he's fabricating a cover-up

Russians so jealous of America had to spread fake news, interfere in elections and divide Americans through social media

Republicans in Congress have been drifting towards political extremism since long before Trump, and they’re making it impossible for Congress to work the way it’s supposed to.

There are three inescapable facts from the Mueller report that Mitch McConnell can't hide: 1. A foreign government attacked our elections in order to help Donald Trump. 2. Trump welcomed that help. 3. Trump tried to obstruct the investigation into his actions.

don’t worry trump is above the law

Secret Service guarded the door to the bar at Mar-a-Lago, preventing the bartender from returning while Trump staffers helped themselves to top-shelf liquor and sent taxpayers the bill. https://www.propublica.org/article/trump-inc-podcast-taxpayers-covered-liquor-bill-for-trump-staffers-and-more-mar-a-lago …

This is a gift to the country from ⁦@benjaminwittes⁩. It walks through and plainly analyzes Mueller’s report. I can’t imagine not having read it. Recommend for everyone. Legally, and morally, this is not a close call.

I can't stress enough the extent to which Trump's base now lives in an alternative info environment and who can blame them? Everyone is lying to them. Trump. His team. Many right-wing commentators. Congressional Republicans. The GOP. Fox News. This is a huge long-term problem.

One interesting aspect of the Mueller Report is not what's in it, but how Trump's shills have reacted to it. They have taken two positions. 1. The report says exactly the opposite of what it says 2. The media totally screwed up this story. Both are worth a moment here. /1

valuable @RadioFreeTom thread. he correctly identifies principal interest of large number on the right, including in conservative media, as not even defending Trump but rather discrediting “mainstream” journalism they believe disdains their worldview. all grievance all the time.

The 1st main finding: Mueller found no criminal conspiracy between Trump's team & Moscow. Second, while Mueller did not recommend obstruction charges against Trump, he found several instances where Trump tried to influence or shut down the investigation. https://bit.ly/2IHEkGR

No collusion confirmed

An exhausting amount has been written about Russian Twitter bots, but their use of Facebook groups was so cynical. I don't think we'll ever have a full understanding of how much influence they were able to exert. Mueller Report estimates 126 million Americans reached.
