What doesn't he understand about democracy, the First Amendment and the importance of the marketplace of ideas which leads to truth. Oh wait, he understands. Facts hurt him so he wants to suppress truth. https://twitter.com/JoyceWhiteVance/status/1231228007781740545 …
The Ink Spots song comes to mind— “You always hurt the ones that tell the truth!” Well something like that. @realDonaldTrump @Eugene_Robinson @ProjectLincoln @JoyceWhiteVance @NicolleDWallace @tribelaw @neal_katyal @MalcolmNance @jaketapper @donlemon @ananavarro @NPRKelly
New: “in this administration, good men and women don’t last long.” A searing op-ed from retired Adm. Bill McRaven about his very close friend the now former acting DNI, Joe Maguire. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/william-mcraven-if-good-men-like-joe-maguire-cant-speak-the-truth-we-should-be-deeply-afraid/2020/02/21/2068874c-5503-11ea-b119-4faabac6674f_story.html …
“As Americans, we should be frightened — deeply afraid for the future of the nation. When good men and women can’t speak the truth, when facts are inconvenient... then there is nothing left to stop the triumph of evil.”
Hi. He's the president. He gets to pick the DNI (subject to Senate confirmation). It's news that there are apparently 4 candidates. As someone following this story closely, I'm sharing the news. Not praising or criticizing or commenting in any way on who's making it. All best--
Considering Russia's role in the downfall of America we must consider one of two possibilities: The Republican House and Senate are both inept and must be replaced. Or the Republican House and Senate are both complicit and, again, must be replaced. There is no middle ground.
Tweet of the Day! Almost! @realDonaldTrump was not mentioned but I will toss him into the mix for replacement! @ProjectLincoln @Morning_Joe @Eugene_Robinson @PhilipRucker @JoyceWhiteVance @abbydphillip @NicolleDWallace @jaketapper @NPRKelly
There have been 9 Dem debates; the 10th is Tuesday. Foreign policy has accounted for maybe 10% of debate time even tho the US affects the world in critical ways, the world affects the US in critical ways, and any POTUS has a near free hand to conduct foreign policy. This is crazy
Agree @RichardHaass. Time for us to organize a foreign-policy focused debate.
"I have no doubt he reached into his sock drawer & pulled out another $100 mill today, to run ads to help erase everyone's memory of exactly what I quoted him saying." ~@ewarren, when I asked about her pummeling of Bloomberg over women & sexist comments. https://www.npr.org/2020/02/20/807873768/sen-elizabeth-warren-back-in-media-spotlight-after-nevada-debate-performance …?
Ric Grenell was spokesman for John Bolton, Zalmay Khalilzad, and Jack Danforth at the UN. Mitt Romney wanted him to be a national security spokesperson for his campaign but an anti-gay evangelical and social conservative uprising blocked him. But he has not served as an analyst https://twitter.com/nprkelly/status/1230265260495511552 …
No disrespect to those who've served as US spokesperson at the UN; it's an important job. But does it qualify you to run all 17 US intelligence agencies?
A @NPR story I heard yesterday about South Carolina in which Biden, Steyer, Sanders, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar are all discussed... but not Warren. Why, @nprAudie @NPRKelly?? It sure does feel like the #WarrenMediaBlackout is real. https://www.npr.org/2020/02/14/805760529/how-south-carolinas-african-american-voters-are-mobilizing-for-biden-and-challen …
The worst part about the #WarrenMediaBlackout is that if Warren loses, the press is going to have a field day analyzing why she lost and they will share a huge part of the blame. Just as they share the blame for helping Trump win w/all the free airtime. @NPR @nprAudie @NPRKelly
